Analysis of a film

One film that i have been looking at for inspiration for my moving opening is dexter. I have been studying the opening title seen and there is a few ideas that i liked from it. Things like the camera angles it uses are good as it has good close ups on the food that he is eating and it representing him killing somebody which i think is good as he hasn't actually killed anyone but it is misdirecting the audience watching which i think is good.

For example this shot is particularly good as it shows the misdirection as it shows the ketchup being squirted onto the egg, but you cant see the bottle so it makes it look like blood is falling on the egg in the eyes of the audience watching.
This is also good as it shows one of the people name that has helped made the film and it fits in this shot very well with its colour and positioning.

This is another good shot because of the lighting that is used in the shot, as the close up shows a good side to him as he is stopping murderers. But also in the shot it shows his dark side as he is a serial killer who is killing the murderers, so the lighting is very good as it is showing the divide in his life from the good thing he trying to do but in the wrong way he is doing it.

Also the music that is used all the way through the opening scene is very productive which fits the opening sequence as there is something always going on which fits it well as it accompanies all the shots being shown.  It is also upbeat as it is being played by a guitar and other strings which is gives it the upbeat tempo which i like.

So for my opening film sequence and i am hoping to take some inspiration from this opening sequence because i believe it has some good ideas and good camera shots that it uses.
